Our Vision Statement
“Saved by God’s grace and compassion,” …
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
We will, remember our own brokenness and dependency on God’s abundant grace. Because of this, we will be moved to extend mercy to all in our community.
“we strive to be a diverse community of believers”…
Matthew 11:28 “Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Galatians 3:26-28 “So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 4:1-7 “I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all, and in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.”
We will share the love of Christ in creative and adaptive ways so that those from varied backgrounds, experiences, and gifts will be welcomed, valued and encouraged.
“reaching out to others,” …
Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
I Corinthians 15: 1-4 (edited) “I make known to you the gospel which I preached, by which you are saved, that Christ died for our sins, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day.” (condensed)
We will eagerly seek to share the Gospel of Jesus with others in Longview, in Texas, and throughout the world. We will be purposeful about connecting ministries, study opportunities, and relationships to the spiritual blessings found in Jesus.
“demonstrating His love,” …
Matthew 16:24 “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you should love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Hebrews 13:2 “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.”
Ephesians 5: 1-2 “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children, and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
We will demonstrate the love of God within our church family by seeking unity and by serving one another in humility. With hospitality, we will generously welcome others to share in God’s love, too.
“maturing in Christ,” …
Ephesians 4:11-13 “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
II Peter 1: 5-7 “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; to goodness, knowledge; to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.”
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”
Galatians 5:25 “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
We will live by the Spirit and grow into the image of Christ. Our family will be built up and strengthened by every person using their Spiritual gifts and allowing Christ to rule in our hearts.
“embracing a life of worship, service and prayer.”
Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.”
Ephesians 6: 7 “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men.”
I Thessalonians 5: 16-18 “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
We will celebrate, honor, and glorify God with our lives. Our worship gatherings will provide experiences that inspire, convict, teach, heal, and draw people into the very presence of a holy God. We will serve all in the name of Jesus, and we will depend on prayer for power, comfort, and relationship with God.
